Our aim is to improve health and social care services in Central Bedfordshire.

HW-ItStartsWithYou_LogoTo do this we need your feedback about local GP surgeries, hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, opticians, social care, emergency care and community based health teams. With this, we are able to inform, liaise, influence and, if necessary, challenge decisions and plans.

For all of this, we need your help!

Please help us by sharing your experiences of all or any of these services by clicking on the button below.

Adult Advocacy Services

Advocacy Customer Engagement SurveyHealthwatch Central Bedfordshire have been asked by the local authorities in Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough to lead a community engagement project to seek the views of their residents on the local adult’s Advocacy Service.

Advocacy is a free, independent support service that involves you in decisions about your health, care and wellbeing. An advocate is an independent professional who is on your side. They can support you to have your say and know your rights.

If you have previously received Advocacy support, or you are currently receiving Advocacy support, please complete this short survey as your feedback will help to develop Advocacy support services for the future.

The new telephone service is a lot quicker to get answered and the staff are very helpful even if unable to give an appointment they have tried alternative ways to help me I am also impressed with the new Anima I have used twice and got such speedy efficient response. The doctors are excellent. My only request is it would be helpful if once a month a late night surgery was available to book in advance for working people

I agree with this lady’s comment. Priory Gardens surgery was excellent prior to its move to the Hub. It is now an empty shell. Cannot get through to get an appointment if you get through told to ring back as none available for 2 weeks but you need to call back as will be released in 2 days! When you are there the waiting areas are empty. Sit and wait keep being cancelled if you are not on social media you wouldn’t know. Admin staff are good but are triaging at the front desk no privacy explaining symptoms. They are promoting PPG survey on Facebook but you can’t scan unless you see a poster. This could be an issue for Healthwatch response level too. I realise services are stretched but somehow we need to know if there is a difficulty recruiting GPs or flaw in their systems for accessing appointments
