Young Healthwatch volunteer, Mars, shares what she got from her work experience with Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire.

In July 2023, Year 10s across the country have been completing their work experience and viewing what a work place and day looks like. I have been doing my work experience at Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire (HWCB) and these are my thoughts on how the experience has been.

I had already known about Healthwatch as I have been volunteering with Young Healthwatch for two years and decided it would be an interesting place to complete my work experience. Over the last 3 days, I have had meetings with different members of the HWCB team and learning what they do, helping with a coffee morning at Priory View, helped with the organisation of projects and researched into various topics for Young Healthwatch. Overall, I have really enjoyed my experience at HWCB and have learned a lot about health and social care services, Healthwatch role and how everyone works!
