I recently attended Bedford Hospital Colonoscopy department and received excellent treatment.
Really pleased to have assisted Healthwatch as a volunteer at the Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) at Bedford today. The areas I visited were all pretty good and should have passed…I’m sure that they did…

I fell and banged my head and shoulder, resulting in concussion-like symptoms. I had seen a GP and optician but a few weeks later I was still suffering. I arrived at A&E lunchtime, mid week and th
Fantastic care at Bedford A&E and met so many wonderful professionals who are also lovely people – would go more often but I would rather not fall over and break two ribs. From the nurse who did the initial bloods and heart check, then found us somewhere quiet as it was middle of the night, through to the nurses who looked out for us first thing in the morning and brought us tea, our brilliant A&E doctor – so sorry I dont know his name – who ran lots of tests and set up the medical team to do more, lovely colleague in X ray and then more in the CT team – so very reassuring as well as a delight to meet.

Bedford Hospital Gynacology department failed my mother. She was told she was considered urgent for a hysterectomy in January 2024 and had her pre-op but her operation was postponed to June 2025 despite being considered urgent and correspondence in August 2024 saying she was being expedited. Due to the delay she developed terminal cancer only picked up by a private consultant not Bedford hospital and now on palliative care. Bedford hospital should be ashamed of their negligence.
