Hi, so finally and luckily I have been transferred to Biggleswade mental health team and under them now however I still worry for the patients sadly who are still under meadow lodge and aren’t getting the proper treatment because meadow lodge always goes with the easy option rather than go down the route that fits the individual.
They have proven that there is miscommunication between staff with the fact it took them a year to make a phone call (or was that there ineptness?) either way the team manager offered no apology or clarification she would look into it or fix the problem for others.
I honestly believe a formal investigation into how they run and treat patients is called for

As you can probably see from most of these reviews, this service is way below standard.

The unprofessionalism is extremely frustrating. And, furthermore, concerning considering the responsibility these people have for the safety of both their patients and the general public.

Now Ampthill CMHT are on a discharging spree, clearly due to the lack of funding. If you are in the service, you will likely be kicked out soon. But, then again, while you are on the books I’ll bet you barely get any community support as it is.

Very badly run. Shambolic.

Hi I have experienced the same thing with the female psychiatrist at the lodge I know we are talking about the same person as they only have two psychiatrists since Dr Mcinnes left.

She was completely dismissive of me she was far more interested in my living situation with my partner and when we were going to get married. She seemed to be judging us for living together without being married. I have had an open PALS investigation going since last year due to such incompetence I also inadvertently got to speak to someone else who faced the same issue. It turns out she told him that someone his age cannot have Bipolar. He is older than me I also have Bipolar.

She was constantly dismissive of my bipolar and in fact discharged me after 3 meetings and refused to take me back under my GP’s advice as I was experiencing a terrible bipolar mania as she discharged me on high dose anti depressants with no mood stabiliser.

I have had my complaints take to the local MP at the time which was Nadine Dorries the woman with her when my dad went to complain had said its not the first time theyve heard a complaint about this particular psychiatrist however nothing came of my complaint.

I have had contact with the manager the area manager and then his boss I received just as terrible treatment from them as th psychiatrists at Meadow Lodge. Ever since Dr Mcinnes retired the quality of care has gone down hill.

I then had her LIE on my discharge letter and LIE to my GP. So it seems this is not a first for her to actively lie about her patients when talking to other professionals. She actually said that I had agreed to treat myself in the discharge letter she sent to my GP!!!!!

The other psychiatrist there was just as rude and he severely lacked empathy. He also lied because they’d put up that new ELFT board asking about care plans in the waiting room I asked him about it as they’d claimed i was on one etc he sat there and made 3 different excuses every time i asked him he said one thing i rebutted it and he said oh well no it happens if you do ‘x’ and i said oh but I did do ‘x’ and then eventually i pointed at the board behind him and he just said some excuse about how i wasnt on one for ‘xyz’ reasons. He smiled as I was sat there having a major breakdown and walked off to get my prescription. Just last week he again lied on my letter to my GP stating I was not depressed etc etc except i was severely depressed at the time of the phone call i broke down in tears to him.

I hadn’t showered in a week and had relapsed in self harm all of whihc i told him but his report was that I was calm on the phone showed no signs of depression and expressed no thoughts of self harm. I am appalled by the services at Meadow Lodge and am now chasing up my PALS investigation which was put on hold due to COVID.

I would highly recommend reporting her to the medical board as I was advised to do so by a mental health charity I believe it was RETHINK. She should not have her license. If i were you I’d phone RETHINK and find out the process of reporting her so they can do a full investigation into her practice as they have the ability to suspend her license etc PALS do not they can just help transfer you to another outpatient unit.
