NHS charges for items prescribed in England will increase, from the 1st May 2024.
The prescription charge will increase by 25p to £9.90 for each medicine or appliance dispensed. The prescription pre-payment certificate for hormone replacement therapy will cost £19.80. A three- month prescription pre-payment certificate and 12-month one will cost £32.05 and £114.50 respectively. Charges for wigs and fabric supports will also increase.
The Patients Association is a member of the Prescription Charges Coalition, which calls on the Government to scrap prescription charges for people with long-term conditions in England.
