Do you want to learn more about the support available for people with learning disabilities who may be affected by cancer?

The East of England Cancer Alliance Patient Partnership Group is hosting a free online event looking at the support available to people with learning disabilities throughout their cancer journey.

Let’s Talk About Cancer: Support for people with learning disabilities

Wednesday 7 October 2026
6.30pm-7.30pm
Online via Microsoft Teams

The event will feature Dr Suzanne Phillips, GP, who will share practical information about accessing cancer screening, diagnostic tests, treatment and ongoing support.

There will also be an opportunity to hear from a person with lived experience, who will share their own experiences and explain the difference that the right support can make.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take part in the discussion.

The event is open to everyone, including:

  • People with learning disabilities
  • Family members and carers
  • Support workers
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Anyone interested in learning more about accessible and inclusive cancer care
