Are you over State Pension age, or do you know someone who is?
Pension Credit tops up pension income and can help with day-to-day living costs. If you are over State Pension age, you may be eligible to claim Pension Credit, even if you own your home or have savings.
Someone may still get Pension Credit if they:
- have not paid National Insurance contributions
- have some savings or a small pension
- live with their grown-up family
- own their own home
Pension Credit is worth, on average, £3,900 a year, but around a third of those eligible for Pension Credit are not claiming it and could be missing out on extra money each week. Make sure you don’t miss out.
Use the Government’s Pension Credit calculator to find out how much Pension Credit someone could get – without giving any personal details.
Check your eligibility on the Government’s website. You can also contact the Pension Service by calling 0800 99 1234.
