Diabetes Awareness Week is an annual event organised by Diabetes UK to raise awareness and funds for research into diabetes. The week aims to educate people about what it’s like to live with diabetes and to dispel myths and misconceptions.
This year Diabetes UK wants to focus on the health checks you need when you have diabetes.
Life with diabetes can feel like number, check and test overload. You might feel fine, or feel like you don’t have the time. Or maybe you’re not sure what checks you should be getting. But these regular diabetes health checks are vital to keep you healthy, so you can continue living life to the full.
Working in partnership with Health Innovation East and the National Institute for Health Research, Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire was proud to host a Diabetes Awareness event last year.
