Local residents across Bedfordshire are being encouraged to attend a drop-in community event focused on breaking the stigma surrounding bladder and bowel health.

Taking place on Thursday, 25th June 2026 at the Rufus Centre in Flitwick, the event aims to bring together healthcare professionals, charities, support services, patients, carers, and families for an informative and supportive day.

NHS estimates suggest that around 14 million people in the UK are living with bladder problems, approximately 1 in 5 people. Despite how common continence issues are, many people still feel uncomfortable discussing symptoms or seeking help.

The drop-in event is open to everyone, including patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and members of the public interested in learning more about continence health.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with a wide range of organisations and specialist teams, including the Tissue Viability Team, Heart Failure Team, Neuro Team, Alzheimer’s Society, Age UK, Carers in Bedfordshire, and leading continence suppliers, including Coloplast, CliniSupplies, Qufora, and Wellspect.

Organisers hope the event will help local people access advice, discover available services, and feel more confident discussing bladder and bowel health.
