A fantastic £995.17 was raised to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support at our Quiz Night held on the 23rd February at Parkside Hall, Ampthill.
Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire held our annual Macmillan Mammoth Quiz, with 93 people attending in twelve teams of all ages.
The evening began with the ‘Heads and Tails’ game, a lucky table prize, and then followed the quiz, with questions set by The Oundle committee, a family team who write the questions for Macmillan Support, in memory of their wife and mother.
‘Cost of Quizzing Crisis’
After eight rounds of questions and a fish and chip supper, the ‘Cost of Quizzing Crisis’, were the overall winners with a total of 86 points and were presented with bottles of wine and chocolates. The losing team, ‘Silsoe Sweeties’ with 64 points were presented with a wooden spoon and a bag of lemons! Chameleon Creative Ltd kindly sponsored the prizes for the evening once again, for both the games and the quiz, and our thanks go to them for their continued generosity in supporting the quiz.
We were extremely fortunate to receive prizes towards our raffle from local businesses in Silsoe and Ampthill, as well as from staff, Directors, volunteers and supporters of Healthwatch. We are very grateful for their donations which contributed to the success of the evening, as we sold over 2500 raffle tickets and winners were able to choose from the selection of fabulous prizes from the organisations below:
