A new site for East London NHS Foundation trust (ELFT) services has opened in Dunstable.
Mountbatten House, 56 High Street South, LU6 3HD is home to Bedfordshire and Luton Adult Eating Disorders Service, Bedfordshire Complex Needs Service, Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Service and Bedfordshire and Luton Macmillan Cancer and Palliative Care Psychology Service.
The teams, who are all part of ELFT, moved this week from the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) in Poynters Road.
The new site has been refurbished and provides more space for patient care. It has 13 consulting rooms, a group/training room, and a clinic room to provide a variety of assessments and treatments.
The Trust has signed a seven-year lease.
“Mountbatten House is a modern site and better suited for patient care,” said project lead Dr Helen Donovan, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and professional lead for Bedfordshire & Luton Adult Psychological Therapies.
“It is also more centrally located in Dunstable with better access to public transport and nearby public parking.”
She added: “We are delighted to have secured a base of our own for our staff and service users. We would also like to thank the DRC for having been fantastic a landlord and supporter of our work.”
Following the move, services can continue to be contacted via existing telephone numbers and email addresses.
