Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) is considering the way heart services and lung services are provided in Bedfordshire, and are looking at how they can make improvements to the way services are delivered and how care can be brought out of hospital and closer to home.

In developing services, their intention is to integrate with the hospital departments, GP practices, community services and the voluntary sector to ensure the best service for their patients.

To ensure that they commission services that meet the needs of local patients, they are asking patients with a heart or lung condition/their relatives/carers to complete the surveys. They would like to understand patients’ experience of current services, how they access services and how they would like to see services change, or indeed remain unchanged.

The surveys are for patients aged over 18, registered with a Bedfordshire GP Practice (excluding Luton) who have a confirmed heart or lung condition diagnosis, or if you care for someone who has. Please can you take the time to complete the relevant survey, to help inform the shape of future services.
