These will normally be administered by your GP surgery, although vaccination is also now offered through some pharmacies, outpatients and other hospital departments.  If you have not been offered these vaccines, and you are in the age categories described above, contact your surgery straight away.

Remember, NHS England offer vaccination to prevent these unpleasant illnesses and their rare, but very real, complications.  Shingles can result in a nerve pain, described as a constant prickling, burning, stabbing pain, which can be difficult to bear. This can last for months after the illness has resolved.
