On Friday 1 October we held our annual ‘Festival for Older People’.
We were delighted to welcome over 200 people to the event this year, including over 30 stall holders from local health and social care services, as well as some local businesses offering their hand made goods.
The Deputy Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Ismail Anilmis, kindly opened the event, saying “It is so nice to see so many people getting together again, and having the opportunity to speak to the numerous exhibitors to hear about the services they offer.”
Once again we had a full programme of entertainment including May Blossom, singing songs from the 50’s and 60’s, and performances from ‘Elvince’, as well as chair based exercises run by Kerry from Flitwick Leisure Centre.
Thank you for your support in raising funds for Macmillan cancer support – the cake stall raised over £178.
The lucky winner of the luxurious hamper from Waitrose is Mr Ian Titman from Ampthill, who said he and his wife would be donating some of the items to the food bank at their local church.
Once again we have been overwhelmed by your positive comments about the Festival for Older People. Here are just some of those:
Let’s look forward to next year’s Festival, which will be the 10th anniversary of this fabulous event!
