DESCRIPTION:As part of Diabetes Prevention Week\, there will be a chance to gain further information about the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) for women with a history of gestational diabetes at three hospitals within BLMK.\n \nWe aim to provide information about the free NHS DPP service offer and encourage women with a history of gestational diabetes to self-refer and take advantage of this valuable programme. Women can self-refer using the following link: bit.ly/GDMselfrefer. \nMidwives and other professionals working with this group are invited to join us on the day to promote your services and encourage women to participate in the NHS DPP. Your presence and support will be invaluable in making these events successful. \nWe will be sharing information about the increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes among women who have had gestational diabetes. Approximately 1 in 2 women with a history of gestational diabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within 5-10 years. The NHS DPP is designed to help women make lifestyle changes to reduce this risk.\n\nFor more information about the NHS DPP\, please read the information leaflet.

DESCRIPTION:Sue Ryder is inviting you to join family\, friends and the local community to celebrate and remember someone special at its Sue Ryder Celebrate a Life Bedfordshire event this December. \nThe winter remembrance event\, held at Bedford School\, De Parys Avenue\, Bedford\, at 7.30pm on Tuesday 17 December will see people come together alongside others in their community who are also living with loss to collectively celebrate the lives of people who have died. \nIt will feature readings\, songs and live music performances. Guests are also invited to write a personal dedication to remember and appreciate the life of someone special\, which will be displayed at the event\, and to share memories of those who have meant so much to you. \nSue Ryder Celebrate a Life Bedfordshire is open to anyone who wishes to remember someone important\, regardless of when they died and if they were a patient of Sue Ryder. \nLimited spaces are available.
